SPINNING YARNS CROCHET CLUB

If you enjoy crocheting and want to help a good cause, meet Molly and the Shelbyville Spinning Yarns Crochet Club at the library on the listed Thursdays from 5:00-7:00pm in the library's Carnegie East Wing. Crocheters will be creating items to give to charity. Please bring yarn and your own hook(s).

Instead of the typical distance education classes where you work alone from home, Learning Unlimited creates a unique community learning environment at your local public library where you can meet with fellow students, speak with reference librarians for help on research and library resources, and navigate your college degree with the help of the Learning Unlimited Coach and Coordinator.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: POLICY CHANGE
LATE FEES

**IMPORTANT NOTICE** As of May 24, 2010, the library's policy with late fees will change. Patrons will have 45 days to return material and pay fines before the collection agency will be called. Two letters notifying patrons of outstanding material will be sent in the mail. If there is not a response from patrons 15 days after the second notice is sent, the collection agency will be contacted.

CARNEGIE EAST WING
RENOVATION UPDATE

The library is in the process of renovating property next to our main Carnegie building. This annex, the Carnegie East Wing, will house meeting rooms, computer labs, additional office and collection space, reference area, and eventually a Friends of the Library bookstore. We are seeking funds to finish construction. CHECK OUT MORE DETAILS ABOUT THIS PROJECT...

The library presented to the City Hall on April 19, 2010. The library found out that we are not able to request racino funds from the city because we are a taxing entity. We will be pursuing options to apply through the Library Foundation which is a nonprofit and helps the library meet costs outside of our normal budget.

We thank Shelby County for their continued support of the library.

In contrast to the newspaper article, the library will NOT be building north of the library. All work for the Carnegie East Wing will be a renovation of the old Kiefer Furniture Building.
